The Fiji Institute of Environmental Health

The Institute is established to promote the advancement of the practice and quality of environmental health in Fiji in alignment with the Allied Health Act through establishing and maintaining inter alia a registration institution for environmental health practitioners to facilitate associate membership into the Fiji Health Practitioners Society.

Our Services

1. Represent generally the views and interests of the profession of Environmental Health and to preserve and maintain its integrity by imposing strict rules of conduct as a condition of membership and by other means promoting just and honorable practice in the profession.

2. Acquire and maintain the professional status and interest of its members, their integrity as prescribed by the FIEH members’ Code of Ethics, the elevation of character, rights and privileges of the Environmental Health profession.

3. Acquire any rights and privileges which the Institute may regard as necessary or convenient for the purpose of the Institute or for promoting the interests of the profession of Environmental health.

4. Provide professional assistance for the protection of the interest of any member or members of the profession in cases which may be deemed to involve the questions of principles affecting the profession generally and not the individual interests of the parties litigating only. Provided that the Institute shall not commit any breach of infringement of any law relating to the maintenance or champerty.

5. To watch over any proposed legislation or Government action affecting the profession of Environmental Health; to promote such legislation in the interests of the profession; to combat and oppose such legislation or action may be found to be contrary to the interests of the profession.
