The Rewa Subdivision commemorated World Mosquito Day on 10 September 2026 at Burebasaga District School, bringing together students from four schools within the Waidroka and Waitui Cluster for a day focused on mosquito prevention, community action and environmental health.<\/p>\n
Held under the theme \u201cTaking Action Together \u2013 Building Resilient Communities”, the celebration provided a platform for students to demonstrate their knowledge and creativity through mosquito-related models, awareness posters and oratory competitions.<\/p>\n
The activities highlighted the importance of educating and empowering young people to understand the risks associated with mosquitoes and mosquito-borne diseases, while encouraging practical actions that can be taken at household and community levels.<\/p>\n
The World Mosquito Day celebration also marked the conclusion of a four-week environmental clean-up campaign undertaken across the Rewa Subdivision. The campaign focused on reducing mosquito breeding sites and encouraging communities to take greater responsibility for maintaining clean and healthy environments.<\/p>\n
The Rewa Subdivision Environmental Health Team acknowledged the support and funding provided by the Divisional Office, which contributed significantly to the implementation of the clean-up campaign and the World Mosquito Day activities.<\/p>\n
The team also acknowledged the participation of representatives from the NVCU, whose contribution added value to the celebration and strengthened collaboration around mosquito prevention and public health action.<\/p>\n
